by Taylor M. Music has always been one of my passions. I have been singing since I could talk and have played a few different instruments over the course of my life. I was ecstatic when I was accepted to the University of North Texas, one of the top music schools in the country. My [...]
I love listening to the feedback from all of the wonderful people who spend their precious time reading I Made Lemonade posts. That being said, several people have expressed their desire to share their story but have also expressed their fear of writing. It is important to me to address this subject because it’s one [...]
By Misty S. My son, Noah, is about to graduate from high school. Daily, I’m reminded of how much of a miracle he is. His story is an I Made Lemonade story. On September 8, 1997, my third son, Noah, was born. My husband and I were young and living in California, happy but struggling [...]
by Will S. “Sphincter says what.” “What?” “Sphincter says what.” “What, son?” “Sphincter says what.” This was the nonsense I heard over the security monitoring system while I was in my office. I’m sure you recognize the statement being made by this ornery, disrespectful little ten-year-old boy. It’s the famous line from “Wayne’s World”. To [...]
by Amy H. This is my "Happy" story about God's faithfulness to bring beauty out of brokenness. In 2010 at 28 yrs old, I began praying to have another baby, which previously I had never desired. I had two children already, who at the time were 9 and 7. I had been married 9 years [...]
My husband and I have been married for almost ten years, and we are parents of four wonderful children who are ages 10, 6, 3, and 2 ½. From first glance, you may not think much of our family. We may seem pretty ordinary, but the way we became a family was nothing but extraordinary.
By Lucy G. I was on my honeymoon in Cancun Mexico, enjoying the sun and the ocean breeze, beautiful scenery all around me, and the sand that felt so good under my feet. I was proud of the new bathing suit that I had special ordered from a plus size catalog. Being a large woman [...]
by Daniel H I received permission from my brother to share a little piece of his life for the sake of encouraging others who may be questioning why God has them, or a loved one, on a path that seems uncertain. My brother and I have always been fairly close. For the most part, we [...]
I have been given a huge family who is constantly showing me support no matter where I am in life. For this post, I’d like to mention a few key moments that have stood out to me in regards to IML. I want to share these moments to publicly thank the individuals who have given such great memories, but I also want to share these moments so that you, as a reader of this post, can be strengthened and inspired to reach out and keep the bonds with those you consider family. Maybe there is someone in your family who needs your support. Maybe you are the person who just wants to know your family has your back.
When you first have an idea, it becomes more real every time you tell someone about it. You begin to hang on every gaze and smile and confused expression to gage your potential success. IML probably would have never begun if the negative reactions outweighed the positive. However, I have the best support team in the world! I’m going to use this post to thank my dearest friends who are such a huge piece of that support team.
